2 advance birthday celebrations

It's funny how it's still about a week more to my birthday and I've already celebrated it twice! All thanks to my sweet ATC comm and ODAC 9th commers. Love y'all!

Even though I have said it many times, I still wanna say it again: Thank you Steven for organising the Sentosa gathering! You da man! Thanks Jeck Meng and Elsie, for getting the food.

Photos photos!

View from the Sentosa train

Everyone was still sitting around when I got there an hour later with my 2 loaves of bread...

Starting to prepare and tucking in to the cooked food.

We were all hungry.

I must say, the food was pretty good!

The gals were caught slacking while the guys sweat it out by the pit. Muahaha.

Well, I was the photographer.

We went to help out with the cooking too alright!

Heating up the cooked food.

The August babies. Didn't even know the cake was partly meant for me when Steven took it out haha. So touched...

That's all of us who turned up. The birthday gals (Elsie, Peiyu and I) even got cute little apple handphone holders. And I absolutely love it! Like Peiyu's green one with the blusher cos it looks so shy. Hehe.

The moon was so round and shining so brightly I couldn't resist taking a picture of it.

It's really good to see that everyone is doing well. It's not easy to meet up especially now that most people have graduated and started working. But it's always comforting to know that people still bother to put in the effort to keep in touch and respond when someone takes the trouble to organise a gathering. It just shows how much one still cares and treasures the friendship.

Had another mini gathering today with some of the good o' 9th commers. We went for steamboat at Bugis. Thanks goat, for organising. Sad to say, my hair (after washing twice and conditioned) still reeks of the oily smell from the steamboat restaurant as I'm typing this. Disgusting.

We have already had our fill when this photo was taken.

Don't ask me why he was giving the chao ah beng look, haha. The steam completes the atmosphere and complements the look.

The clear soup vs. the super oily and spicy soup.

And then the cake was out.

Happy birthday to Ben Lee and myself! Both of us are Lees, heh.

The Aug babies with their other halves.

Kelvin with his other half.

Goat... Bahhhhh...

The gals. Candice, me and Yingli.

I seriously don't know why I had this expression but goat just happened to catch me in the act. Candice and I love the sticky sesame-coated ball with red bean paste inside so much we had to take one more each before leaving the restaurant. Haha.

I think I still prefer having steamboat at Marina South, where it's open-air. It's too warm at this Bugis one and there's no frying. Plus, it's more expensive.

After steamboat, we wanted to chill out at TCC but it was full house. Damn. And we had to settle for Han's at the National Library. The drinks there were pretty awful. The lady who made me 'ice chocolate' even asked another lady whether she had to add sugar. *Faint*. Apparently, the final product wasn't fantastic. Oh well.

Really enjoyed my weekends these past 2 weeks, meeting up with old pals. Having something to look forward to during the week really makes working so much easier.

Met up with the 01s66 gals one day after work too, haven't seen them for such a long time. Had dinner at Waraku at Central. Didn't really dig the Jap pasta though. Introduced the gals to the Hokkaido ice cream and I think they liked it too! Think we tried most of the flavours there and they were all good! Found the dark choc flavour a tad too heaty though. You might wanna give that a miss if you're prone to getting sore throat. A pity I didn't manage to take any photos that day.

Anyway, that's all for now! Take care folks! I'm thankful to have you all in my life. For those who're working, have fun at work. Those who're still schooling, study hard. Hopefully, we'll meet up again real soon! =D

XOXO
