Desaru! No, I haven't abandon this blog. Been busy busy busy recently so finally here are some updates! December started with an unplanned trip to Desaru with him and his family. Who would've expected that after a week of late nights and hard work, I'll actually be rewarded with a short getaway! :) It was a wonderful trip that brought back much memories from ODAC days. I know it's not really THAT long ago... Haha... Just about 2 years or so. The long long roads were still the same but I went by car and not a bicycle this time, thank goodness for that! We stayed in a beautiful resort and not a run-down camp site with dormitories and no hot water. It was great being back at the same place experiencing a whole new experience. I still miss those days when I still have the stamina to travel places on 2 wheels with a whole bunch of friends. But with 4 wheels, there comes more flexibility, time and energy to tour around the place. So, 'nuff said! Photos! We took to the beautiful beach while waiting for dinner to be served. The waves were as huge as I could remember and the cold cold wind was blowing pretty hard. We really tried our best to squat as near the water as possible. That's a stitched photo of the resort we stayed in. Too bad it can't be any bigger. RM400+ a night and the service was terrible. The scenic view compensates for it though. We had our dinner at a seafood restaurant at a resort beside ours. The crab and lobster tasted great, the other dishes were just ok. The suite we stayed in was huge. It was double-storey. We were wowed by it when we first entered. A pity the maintenance on the inside was pretty bad. Finally and at the most unexpected time, we went for the firefly cruise! Didn't see many fireflies, just got some mosquito bites. I suspect it's not the right season. Haha. It was fun trying to catch them on our palms and watch them glow though. What a pretty and interesting insect a firefly is! (Never thought I'd hear myself say that about an insect. Eeek I hate insects.) The next morning, we headed down to the fruit farm ( I think it's pretty well known) but we didn't manage to tour it cos the tour was hourly. So we chose... Go Kart! How can we give this a miss? It's my 3rd time there and I must say I'm good! Muahaha. The uncle said so too ok. Remember to check the Go kart out next time you visit Desaru! It's lots of fun! Try doing a drift! FYI, the off-terrain vehicle center is no longer in operation. What a pity. Good thing I had a shot at that before. Right, Xp? We went to the beach again after some adrenaline-pumping rides. It was low-tide and a river formed just beside the sea. Interesting sight. Does anyone recognise this place? We got a little adventurous and went in search of some places we've been before when we went trekking. Maybe this photo will ring a bell. and this My my... those were undeniably the best days of my university life. Yes, amazingly, we managed to find Pelepah using the GPS! The wonders of technology. We wanted to enter the Kota Tinggi Waterfall Resort to check out the waterfall. But it costs RM9 per person just to enter so we decided not to. Next time maybe. Really enjoyed myself very much this trip and I'm looking forward to more! So my life's happening, you think? There's more to come! My company dinner & dance, my cousin's wedding in Malaysia and more. There's too much to say and too little time. Christmas is just round the corner so if you haven't planned anything already, what are you waiting for? |
