My Grad Trip - Taiwan (Part 3)

Day 5

We were back at Taipei. This time round, the hotel was posh.

Danshui was our destination. It was at the end of the MTR line. Kinda like Pasir Ris.

When we first came out of the station, the view was like this:

Looks like a boring ol' park eh? Actually, it ain't too bad. You'll see later.

There were many stalls selling food there.

First, we tried the famous Ah gei tofu! PS recommended it to me before I went Taiwan.

It was good! It's like fishcake/tofu with dong fen inside and it's spicy. *slurp*

After a hearty snack, we continued on into the busy streets of Danshui.

And the view became like this:

We saw many creatures along the way and some of which include

An extremely long millipede/centipede

Scary-looking crabs

A stoning iguana

The view by the sea was really pretty.

Me + Yuet

Me + Viv

All of us were busy eating most of the time.

*photos will be uploaded soon!*

Some chose the wrong food.

This fish shop allows little boys to catch fish with a net that won't tear.

Adults use paper nets. Brilliant.

A picture of bing tang hu lu + tomatoes + strawberries for PS as promised!

Sorry I can't send the bing tang hu lu to Melbourne!

After a day of fun in Danshui, we went back to Xi men ding for dinner.

Doing what girls usually do, we decided to shop again before having dinner.

When we decided to have our dinner, we spotted a cute little Jap restaurant.

The 'conveyor belt' in the shop was actually a train! Yeah, since it was moving, I could't get a clear picture.

So we decided to dine there. But alas! When we went upstairs, the bento boxes were all sold out.

The place was beautiful though.

I'm glad the bento boxes were sold out actually. The food there was expensive.

We settled for another budget Jap restaurant in the end.

This was my dinner.

Pork chop rice complete with a green tea agar agar!

Boy, were we happy & satisfied after our meal!

After dinner, we went back to our hotel.

It was a night of asshole dai di.

And I am sad to say that me & Yuet had our fair share of being the asshole.

Poor Yuet though, even after I became king, she still didn't manage to redeem herself.

*evil laughter*

Day 6

The last day in Taiwan.

Some of us were getting a little homesick.

But we still went shopping in Xi men ding.

I bought a pair of shoes, a pair of shorts and some souvenirs.

It wasn't easy getting to the airport.

We had to take a cab to a bus terminal where we then caught a bus to the airport.

There was a little miscommunication with the cabbie and Viv, Yuet & I ended up at the wrong terminal.

We had no choice but to walk there. Lucky thing the other terminal wasn't too far.

Except that our luggages weighed a tonne with all the shopping.

One last photo at the airport.

It'd been a fruitful trip thanks to the efforts of Ali & Renjie.

A big THANK YOU to the both of you!

So long, Taiwan!
